History of Kisarazu KOSEN

June 1967 The predecessor was found with Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering and Department of Civil Engineering
Opening ceremony and the first enrollment Ceremony was observed
June 1968 The first stage of construction was completed
March 1969 The second stage of construction was completed
March 1970 The third stage of construction and Martial Arts Hall was completion
March 1975 Electronic computer room completed
November 1976 Library completed
November 1977 The10th anniversary celebrated
March 1982 Alumni Hall was completed
January 1983 The second Gymnasium completed
April 1983 Electronic Control Engineering established
First foreign students were admitted
February 1984 Research Building #2 was completed
November 1987 20th Anniversary ceremony was celebrated
March 1988 Lecture Building was completed
April 1990 Department of Informative Engineering was established
March 1992 Research Building #3 was completed
April 1994 Civil Engineering Department in Japanese was renamed
November 1997 30th Anniversary ceremony was celebrated
March 2000 Girl’s Dormitory Building was completed
April 2000 Department of Electrical Engineering was renamed into Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering
December 2000 Cooperative Technology Center was established
April 2001 Advanced Course was established
August 2003 General Education Building was completed
April 2004 Kisarazu National College of Technology was established by reorganization
May 2006 “Production Systems Engineering” program is accredited by Japan Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (JABEE)
March 2007 KNCT underwent accreditation by institution and were certified to fulfill all the criteria as a vocational school by National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation for the 2006th fiscal year
April 2007 offices were reorganized into two Divisions (General Affairs Division, Student Affairs Division)
April 2008 Education and Research Support Center was established due to amendment to legislation on administrative organization of National College of Technology
March 2012 Girl’s Dormitory (Nanohana Ryo) was added
March 2013 “Books and Network Center Building” was renamed as “Library and Network Information Center” after renovation
March 2014 Kisarazu KOSEN underwent accreditation by institution and were certified to fulfill all the criteria as a vocational school by National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation for the 2013th fiscal year
April 2015 The name in English of Kisarazu KOSEN was changed from “Kisarazu National College of Technology” to “National Institute of Technology, Kisarazu College”
